UNITED STATES FUTSAL NAMES VIRGINIA YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION THE EXCLUSIVE STATE ASSOCIATION FOR VIRGINIA AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

Fredericksburg, Va. January 26, 2016

The Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) announced today that they have entered into a multi-year partnership with United States Futsal the governing body for Futsal in the United States. United States Futsal (USFF) has been governing the sport of Futsal in the United States since 1981.  Futsal (Five-a-Side Soccer) is "The Way the World Plays Indoor Soccer" and is the international form of indoor soccer approved by theFédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).  It is played in all continents of the world by over 100 countries with 12 million players. As USFF’s exclusive representative for Virginia and DC, VYSA will be responsible for sanctioning Futsal league and tournament play, player and coach registration and a USFF State Championship beginning in January of 2017. VYSA State Champions will be crowned in youth and adult age groups and will move on to USFF Regional and National Championships. Additionally, VYSA’s Coaching Education Department will offer clinics and courses throughout the year to help educate VYSA’s member coaches on technical and tactical aspects of Futsal.

The Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) announced today that they have entered into a multi-year partnership with INARIA, the Toronto-based soccer apparel and equipment manufacturer. The partnership provides INARIA with sponsorship assets and category exclusive status in the uniform and soccer apparel category. INARIA will provide VYSA uniforms and coaching gear for VYSA’s ODP and Academy Programs as well as a discount on premium INARIA uniforms, gear and equipment for VYSA member clubs and leagues. VIRGINIA IS AWARDED THE 2017 & 2018 REGION 1 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Spotsylvania County, Virginia. January 28, 2015

The Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) was awarded the bid to host the 2017/2018 USYS Region 1 Championships by the Presidents of Region 1 at the USYSA (United States Youth Soccer Association) Annual Workshop in Philadelphia on January 16th, 2015.

The Region 1 Championships are held annually and attract hundreds of State Champion youth teams and thousands of visitors from the 15 states that make up Region 1 of USYSA. The competition is held over a five day period each summer. The 2017 Championships will be held from June 29th-July 4th and the 2018 Championships will be held from June 28th-July 3rd. The Fredericksburg Region including Spotsylvania County, the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County will be rolling out the red carpet for the Region 1 Championship teams, their families and other visitors who will enjoy world class playing fields, hotels, restaurants and attractions.

The competition venues will include the Virginia Soccer Training Center at the Spotsylvania Sportsplex which will serve as the Headquarters Facility and will host all semi-final and final matches. The Virginia Soccer Training Center is owned and operated by VYSA and boasts 9 FIFA regulation fields including two with artificial surfaces and lights. Patriot Park in Spotsylvania will add another six FIFA regulation fields and the new Embrey Mill complex in Stafford will round out the twenty plus fields required to host the Championships.
