Field Closures and Rain Outs
PublixVSTC operates a NO REFUND policy. In no event shall the Applicant be entitled to any refund of any collected Fees should any practice, game, tournament, camp or clinic, activity, engagement or other use of PublixVSTC be canceled. However, if that cancellation is due to inclement weather or necessary maintenance and an immediate field replacement is not offered, and such Reservation is rescheduled by agreement of both parties, any collected Fees shall be applied to the Fees for such rescheduled event in the calendar year.
There are three levels of Field Status at PublixVSTC, and the daily status is updated on the front page of this website.
Fields Open: If the fields are open and rental is not used, the field time is lost and the renter is not entitled to a refund or reschedule
Fields Pending: If the potential weather in the area may force field closures that day. PublixVSTC will update the website and Renters have the opportunity to reschedule prior to booking, via phone call or email.
- If rescheduled and fields are open, renters will not be able to take advantage of original rental time
- If not rescheduled and fields are open and renter does not show, renter is not entitled to a refund or reschedule
- If fields are closed by PublixVSTC, the renter is entitled to reschedule
Fields Closed: If weather or other factors force field closure by PublixVSTC. Renter is entitled to reschedule the event.
It is the responsibility of all renters to initiate the rescheduling of any reservations. Any rescheduled times and dates are subject to PVSTC availability.
Inclement Weather Guidelines
The following procedures will be implemented in the event of threatening weather conditions:
With no lightning: Play may continue until conditions cause excessive wear to the grass fields.
- Electrical Storms or Hail:
When a lightning storm is imminent, 3 long air horn bursts will be sounded to signal to all participants and spectators to evacuate the Park for at least 30 minutes. Once told to evacuate visitors will have three minutes to get out of the park. Failure to evacuate in this time frame will lead to a cancellation of his or her rental which will be non-refundable.
At this time all participants and spectators should return to vehicles. Tents or pavilions in the Park are not suitable for shelter. Failure to get out of the park and into a vehicle or the surrounding building will lead to a cancellation of the customer's rental and it will not be refunded. Future rentals will also be compromised, cancelled, and not refunded.
The fields will remain closed until a PublixVSTC staff member receives an all-clear message When it is safe for participants and spectators to return to the Park 1 short air horn blast will be sounded.
At this time field inspections will occur to determine if grass fields are in a suitable condition for play.
